Free habit tracker
A habit tracker that is actually free to use every day
Most free habit trackers are free for a week, or free until they take away the reminder. This one gives you the whole daily habit and asks for nothing.

What is free, exactly
Everything you need to build the habit, every day, with no card and no expiry date:
- 5 things a day. Write them down in the morning, tick them off as you go.
- Your streak. The number that gets you back tomorrow is never behind a wall.
- Reminders. Forgetting is the main reason people stop. Charging for the fix would make the free version broken on purpose.
- Folders, start times and estimates. File a task under a part of your life, give it a time, see when your day will be done.
- The last 14 days of squares, and a new quote every morning you can share as a card.
- Your data, whenever you want it. Export the lot as CSV or JSON. Free accounts included.
So what is the catch?
There is a paid plan, and it is worth saying plainly what it holds: the archive. Beyond 14 days your history is still recorded and never deleted, but you cannot see it without Pro. Pro also lifts the daily limit, opens the insights drawn from your record, lets you plan a year ahead, and gives you 2 streak freezes a month.
That split is deliberate and it is the honest way round. The habit is the thing you need on day one; the archive is the thing you only want once the habit has been running for months. Charging for the first would be charging for the part that decides whether this works for you at all.
Why “free” usually is not
Free habit trackers tend to come in three shapes, and it is worth knowing which you are looking at before you invest a month of your life in one.
Free for now. A trial with a countdown. Perfectly honest, but you are choosing a paid app and deferring the decision.
Free but advertised at. You are not the customer. The app has a reason to keep you opening it that is not the same as your reason.
Free with the useful part removed. The most common, and the most frustrating: unlimited habits but no reminders, or a streak you can see only after upgrading.
Ours is a fourth: free forever for the daily loop, paid for by the people who want their years back. Pro subscriptions fund it, so there is no second customer and nothing to sell. You can check that on our cookie policy.
Start today, free
Five things for today. No card, about a minute to set up.
Why five things and not fifty
Most trackers let you add as many habits as you like, and most people do. Forty items, six of them ticked, and an app you stop opening by the third week.
Five fits a normal day and is short enough to finish on a bad one. Finishing is what makes the habit hold, so the limit is the feature. You can read the longer version of that argument in what “1% better every day” actually means.
Nothing to download
It runs in your browser and installs to your phone from there, so there is no app store, no update to approve and nothing taking up space. It works offline once installed, which matters because the moments you actually tick things off are on the train and in queues.
Common questions
Do I need a card to start? No. There is no card field anywhere in signup.
Does the free version expire? No. There is no trial clock. The daily loop stays free.
What happens to my history if I never pay? It keeps recording. You see the last 14 days; the rest is stored and waiting, not deleted. If you subscribe in a year, it is all there.
Can I get my data out? Any time, as CSV or JSON, on every plan including this one.
