Cookie Policy
One cookie keeps you signed in, and it is not optional. One more measures which features get used, and that one only exists if you agree to it. There is no advertising and nothing is sold.

Why the notice asks, and what happens if you say no
The cookie that keeps you signed in is strictly necessary to deliver a service you asked for. That is exempt from consent under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive and the equivalent UK rules, so we do not ask about it and you cannot turn it off without signing out.
Product analytics is a different thing. It is not necessary for anything you asked this app to do, so it is not exempt, and it does not start until you accept. Reject is given the same weight as Accept because making one harder to find than the other is exactly what regulators fine people for.
If you decline, every part of the app still works. Your tasks, your streak, your history and your exports are all unaffected. The only difference is that we do not learn which features people use.
So a Reject button here would be a lie: there is nothing to reject, and pressing it could not change anything. We would rather show you an honest notice once than add to the pile of banners that have taught everyone to click the first button they see. If we ever add an optional cookie, this page changes and the notice becomes a real choice, with Reject sitting right next to Accept.
What is actually stored
Strictly, only the first of these is a cookie. The others are related browser storage, and it would be a poor cookie policy that hid behind the distinction:

The session cookie is set httpOnly, which means JavaScript running in your browser cannot read it, and Secure, which means it is only ever sent over HTTPS. It is first-party: it goes to getonepercentbetter.net and nowhere else.
PostHog, if you agree to it
If you accept, we use PostHog to count which features get used — how many people add a task, open their history, or share a quote. It stores an identifier so repeat visits are not counted as new people.
What it is not allowed to do here is as deliberate as what it is:
- It never sees what you write. Automatic capture is switched off and all text is masked, so task titles, folder names and search terms are never sent. We record that a task was added and how many characters it was, never the words.
- No session recording. Nobody watches a replay of you using the app. It is disabled in code, not by policy.
- Only events we name ourselves. Every event is listed by hand in our source, so nothing is collected by accident.
- Identified by account id only, which is a random string. We do not send your email or your name.
What we still do not set
- No advertising or tracking cookies, and no pixels from social networks. Nothing here follows you to other sites.
- Nothing is sold. Pro subscriptions pay for this app. Your data is not a second revenue stream and never has been.
- No third-party fonts or scripts. Our fonts are served from our own domain rather than fetched from Google, so opening a page does not tell another company that you did.
Stripe, during checkout
If you buy a paid plan we send you to Stripe’s own hosted checkout page to pay. Stripe sets its own cookies there, on stripe.com, for fraud prevention and to make the payment work. Those are Stripe’s cookies on Stripe’s domain, not ours, and they are governed by Stripe’s privacy policy. We do not load any Stripe script on our own pages, so visiting getonepercentbetter.net without going to checkout involves Stripe not at all.
Controlling cookies
Every browser lets you view, block and delete cookies — usually under Settings, then Privacy. You can also browse in a private window, which discards everything when you close it.
One honest warning: blocking our session cookie means you cannot sign in. Not as a punishment — the cookie is the mechanism that remembers you between one page and the next. Blocking it leaves the marketing pages perfectly usable and the app unreachable.
Changes
If we add a cookie, this page is updated before it ships and the notice reappears asking you to make a choice. The date at the top always reflects the last change.
